This is my entry in the GBE-2 sponsored by my friend "The Word Nerd". Each week she posts a one word topic and those of us that want to write a blog on what the subject means to us!
This weeks topic is "Expectations"!
If you have seen my profile you know that I'm a pretty old single man that lives with his daughter and grandchildren. I really don't think I have a lot of "Expectations". At least none that are unreasonable.
Life has presented me with many wonders as well as a few tribulations so I have learned to just roll with what ever comes my way. Good, Bad or whatever is thrown my way has to be dealt with, so I do!
I no longer have a career to worry about.
My kids are raised so parenting duties are over.
I don't gamble at casinos anymore, with all those "Expectations".
However, I do have the "Expectation" of being read in this new GBE-2
I hope you enjoyed my thoughts and come back to read again.
If you like writing, I recommend this group. Many are good friends and all are writers.
Thank you for stopping by!
Here I am to fulfill your expectations, Pop! I enjoyed reading your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jean!
ReplyDeleteWell done, Gary! I'm kind of the same way as I just take things as they come day by day. I used to have tons of expectations and goals and that more harm than good for me.
ReplyDeleteI'm helping to fulfill your expectations!! *waves hello* I've always enjoyed reading your blogs and that's sure to continue :)
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you! Great beginning entry, too.
ReplyDeleteI think I get disappointed when I have expectations, so I try not to expect too much. Great post :) Jenn

Thank you Jenn, for stopping and for your kind words.
Marian, thanks. It's pretty short because "life" has been interfering with my 'puter time!
And I always look forward to my favorite "Word Nerd"!
You knew I'd be here Pops! You can count on that expectation for real ( smile) I'm so glad this has started again. I wanted to bring it back but knew I did not have the time to manage it successfully. I know beyond a shadow of doubt that Beth will do a fantastic job!

ReplyDeleteWriting and having you wonderful people read my words makes me smile. Thank you Justonevoice!
ReplyDeleteI too live with one of my children, along with her husband and a couple of my grandchildren. Unlike you, though, I still have lots of expectations. Would love to feel as peaceful as you seem to be. Happy to have been part of your only expectations.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet blog, Gary! I'll bet your grandkids just love having you so near. Take care!
ReplyDeleteThe nice thing about being in your situation Gary is that you ought to have time to make your own expectations. Time to find a new hobby, to write a book maybe, who knows.
ReplyDeleteHaha - sounds like a reasonable expectation! Look forward to your next post.
ReplyDeleteTheresa, Beachlover, Tony,as well as Alana, thank you for your very kind words. I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and read my blog! Hope to see you again next week!
ReplyDeletePops, You so under-estimate your expectations... How about your grandkids? And how about your neighborhood bonfire? And now you have US back to harass you with every GBE? (This is going to be FUN!) Love you, Ma---

ReplyDeleteGreat post, Gary! I think it's true that as we get older we learn to lower our expectations and learn to be grateful for what we have.

It sounds like you have a perfect balance. :-)
ReplyDeleteSoooo... you're saying you expect that you are a "go with the flow" type of guy? =)
ReplyDeletehi! ~chickee
Dude, love that you think you have no real expectations! You expect a lot, I think. You know that your harem is following you and you expect us all to say, "Hey" after we read your offering. See? Secretly, I think your expectations include all the love we send you, too. You are just a top-notch man, communicator and friend. Love your brain!
ReplyDeleteI will be reading you...
ReplyDeleteGreat thoughts!
Great reading, Gary! hugs and love!
